As his confirmation hearings open Tuesday, Sen. Jeff Sessions, Donald Trump’s pick for attorney general, faces major efforts to discredit him as being a racist; they are as diverse as NAACP protests and an unprecedented, historic move planned by Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ), to testify against his colleague. And yet, as Townhall reports, the day before Sessions’ first confirmation hearing, a group of black religious leaders from the Frederick Douglass Foundation and Family Research Council’s Watchmen on the Wall arrived on Capitol Hill to proclaim support for him.
