A top German official accused the United States on Sunday of using “Cold War” methods against its allies, after Germany’s Der Spiegel magazine cited classified intelligence documents to claim that U.S. spies bugged EU offices, CBS News reports. The Telegraph is reporting former NSA contractor Edward Snowden showed Der Spiegel’s reporters “parts” of a secret document from 2010 that outlined how the U.S. had bugged two E.U. embassies and thereby hacked their internal computer networks. German officials have demanded an “immediate and comprehensive” response from the U.S. government.
