Brendan Carr, President-elect Donald Trump’s choice to lead the Federal Communications Commission, is threatening revocation of immunity that the four Big Tech giants enjoy due to their use of NewsGuard. 

NewsGuard is an internet fact-checking platform which works to undermine some conservative outlets and non-legacy media by labeling their news reports as “misinformation.” 

“Over the past few years, Americans have lived through an unprecedented surge in censorship. Your companies played significant roles in this improper conduct,” Carr wrote in a letter to Meta, Apple, Microsoft, and Google. Read Full Story
