Inside the Senate GOP Debt-Limit Vote Drama

Following the lead of Speaker John Boehner, Senate Republican leadership moved quickly Wednesday to help Democrats shut off debate on a bill to raise the federal debt ceiling with no strings attached. Politico has the scoop on the behind-the-scenes drama – including which Senators, tired of always being asked to take tough votes for leadership, refused to do so unless Sens. McConnell and Cornyn joined them. Roll Call reports the opposition was led by Sen. Ted Cruz, who warned, “Come November, the people remember.”
