The Washington Post reports that its review of documents provided by Edward Snowden shows that ordinary Americans far outnumber legally targeted foreign terror suspects in the NSA’s efforts to capture the electronic communications by tracking all of their Internet activity – including emails and web-surfing habits. According to the Post, 9 of 10 accounts found in Snowden’s cache of documents were from people who weren’t the intended targets of an NSA dragnet. The Post estimates another 900,000 people had their communications tracked in the same manner.
