Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell worked Monday to avert a shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security threatened by the divide between GOP and President Obama on immigration, reports The Hill. McConnell moved to rush votes on non-controversial DHS spending and to speed legislation dismantling Obama’s latest efforts on immigration.
