House Republicans to Push Repeal of Individual Mandate

Fresh off President Obama’s decision last week to postpone ObamaCare’s employer mandate, House Republicans announced plans to codify Obama’s decision and to also repeal the individual mandate, reports the New York Times. “Is it fair for the president to give American business an exemption…without giving the same exemption to the rest of America? Hell no, it’s not fair,” quipped Speaker John Boehner according to anonymous sources in a closed door House GOP meeting.

Snowden May Be Snowed-In Moscow Forever

WikiLeaks denies NSA leaker Edward Snowden has accepted asylum in Venezuela, CBS News reports on Tuesday, after a Russian lawmaker tweeted, then minutes later deleted, that Snowden accepted asylum from the South American country. Bolivia and Nicaragua are also offering refuge to Snowden, who is on the run from American officials and is thought to be marooned in the vast transit zone of Moscow’s Sheremetyevo International Airport, according to the Washington Post.  Should Snowden decide to accept Venezuela’s offer of asylum, the tricky thing will be figuring how to get there. He has roughly five options, each carry considerable risk. Here is a brief of each, with pros and cons, ranked by risk.
