President Donald Trump tweeted Thursday that a new site for the signing of “phase one” of the U.S.-China trade deal will be “announced soon” after Chile canceled the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit slated for next month due to ongoing protests in the country.

Why it matters, via Axios’ Jonathan Swan: Trump’s tweet is the most definitive sign yet that the U.S. and Chinese teams are committed to signing the “phase one” deal. Some senior administration officials — who have felt burned by China before — had privately been cautioning that it was still possible it could fall apart at the last minute.

President Donald Trump tweeted Tuesday morning that the terrorist who would have replaced the now-deceased Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi as the leader of ISIS has also been killed by U.S. forces.

“Most likely would have taken the top spot — Now he is also Dead!” Trump wrote.

Al-Baghdadi was killed over the weekend in a raid conducted by U.S. special forces in northern Syria. The serial rapist and murderer was killed when he exploded his suicide vest after being unable to escape. The blast also killed his three children. Read Full Story

President Donald Trump on Thursday thanked House Republicans “for being tough” in the face of the ongoing impeachment inquiry one day after a few dozen GOP lawmakers stormed a secure hearing room in the U.S. Capitol in protest.

“Thank you to House Republicans for being tough, smart, and understanding in detail the greatest Witch Hunt in American History,” Trump tweeted.

The president claimed “it has been going on since long before I even got Elected,” a reference to his long-held but unsubstantiated claims that FBI agents and other intelligence community officials were biased against him during the 2016 campaign. Read Full Story
