Rep. Beth Van Duyne is calling for New York cops to pack their bags and move to the Lone Star State.
The Texas Republican will run a full-page ad in the New York Post Tuesday urging law enforcement officers “to escape New York and move to Texas.”
The ad says Texas is looking for good officers and explains that “the corrupt and crumbling Empire State is so purposefully anti-law and order that you should no longer put your careers and lives in the hands of politicians who couldn’t care less about you or your families.”
The ad comes at a time when New York City is facing a crime wave as illegal immigrants are overwhelming city resources. Read Full Story

House Republicans warned Attorney General Merrick Garland on Monday in a letter they will move to hold him in contempt of Congress if he does not provide them with audio recordings of an interview former special counsel Robert Hur conducted with President Joe Biden.
Reps. James Comer, R-Ky., and Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, wrote that the material the Justice Department provided to them in response to a subpoena was “insufficient” and “inadequate,” and gave Garland until April 8 to comply, saying if he fails to do so they will consider “further action.” Read Full Story

Congressional leaders have rolled out a sprawling package funding large swaths of the government for the rest of fiscal year 2024 after last-minute drama over funds for the Department of Homeland Security threatened efforts to avert a shutdown later this week.
Ahead of the rollout on Thursday, Republicans touted funding cuts in areas including foreign operations and diversity, while Democrats boasted investments in childcare and domestic programs.
The new deal caps off weeks of tough bipartisan, bicameral funding talks after a months-long stalemate over how to fund the government for the rest of this fiscal year. Read Full Story
