Ted Cruz may have won both Utah’s Republican presidential primary and an endorsement from ex-Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, but the Wednesday’s Quinnipiac national poll indicates that nearly half of the supporters of rival candidate John Kasich would vote for Donald Trump, not Ted Cruz, as their second choice, and more than half of Cruz’s backers would do the same if he dropped out, reports Politico.

Tuesday’s terrorist attacks on the Brussels airport and subway system have spurred governments in Europe and beyond to tighten security at airports, on subways, at the borders and on city streets. In New York City the NYPD announced increased security in trains, bridges, tunnels, subway stations and landmarks, reports NBC. GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump said he would have closed America’s borders “until we figure out what’s going on,” according to The Hill.

At the start of his historic three-day visit to the island of Cuba, President Barack Obama said that “change would happen” in Cuba and that Cuban President Raul Castro (who he will meet later on Monday) understood that, reports the BBC. However, hours before Obama landed in Cuba on Sunday, Cuban authorities arrested more than 50 dissidents marching to demand improved human rights, according to USA Today.
