A group of House Republicans warned they would not help pass President Donald Trump’s agenda if it includes deep cuts to Medicaid.
A dozen House Republicans in swing districts drew a sharp red line on Medicaid cuts in a letter Wednesday to House Speaker Mike Johnson.
Lawmakers said they backed “targeted reforms” that do not “divert resources away from children, seniors, individuals with disabilities, and pregnant women — those who the program was intended to help.” Read Full Story

President Donald Trump said there is no pause coming for tariffs set to take effect on Wednesday in his effort to rebalance trade relationships that have long disadvantaged the U.S.
“We have many, many countries that are coming to negotiate deals with us, and they’re going to be fair deals and in certain cases, they’re going to be paying substantial tariffs,” Trump said. “We’re going to have one shot at this.” Read Full Story

Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, introduced a bill Monday to limit the scope of judicial rulings.
The Trump administration has accused district judges of overstepping their authority in repeatedly blocking a number of the president’s policies.
“Judges are not policymakers and allowing them to assume this role is very dangerous,” Grassley said in a statement.
Under Grassley’s bill, judicial rulings would be limited to the parties involved, meaning any judge’s order would not apply to others who may be similarly situated but did not file litigation. Read Full Story
