Republican members of Congress celebrated news of Elon Musk acquiring Twitter on Monday, hopeful that he would restore “free speech” to the platform, while Democrats were far more skeptical of the deal.
Reacting to the $44 billion deal, Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, tweeted that “Free speech is making a comeback.”

Former President Donald Trump touted the “explosive” 2020 election fraud lawsuit in Antrim County, Michigan, in a campaign call on Wednesday.
Trump spoke for roughly five minutes during a telephone town hall event for Matthew DePerno, a Republican candidate for Michigan attorney general who is spearheading the litigation, according to the Detroit News.

Former President Donald Trump says he would virtually ignore the media if he won a second term.
Asked by Fox News host Sean Hannity what he would do differently if elected in 2024, Trump cited his well-known feuding with the press.
“I think one of the things that I would do differently is, you know, I found the media is so corrupt, that I would really not focus on them almost at all,” Trump said Wednesday night. “I would just focus on getting the job done for the American people.”
