A bill circulating through Congress would stop the Biden administration from stockpiling records on American gun owners by altering federal law to allow firearm dealers to destroy sales records.

The bill, a copy of which was obtained by the Washington Free Beacon, is a response to the Free Beacon’s January report detailing how the Biden administration’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) has amassed nearly 1 billion records detailing American citizens’ firearm purchases, a figure that is far higher than Congress and the public has been aware of.

Rep. Michael Cloud, R.-Texas, a chief critic of the ATF’s gun database, is spearheading the legislation, which is likely to garner support from a wide range of Republican lawmakers but few Democrats in the House. The bill, dubbed the No REGISTRY Rights Act, would require the ATF to delete all existing records detailing American firearm sales. The ATF has been collecting this data for years, even though U.S. law prohibits the government from keeping a federal database on gun owners. Read Full Story

As President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address approaches, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced that he will not be sending State National Guard troops to Washington, D.C.

In a tweet published on February 28, DeSantis said that he rejected a request made by Biden to send State National Guard troops to the region. This rejection comes as the so-called People’s Convoy approaches its target, the District of Columbia.

“Last week, the Biden Administration requested the assistance of State National Guards to deploy to Washington D.C. I have rejected this request,” wrote DeSantis, “there will be no [Florida National Guard troops] sent to D.C. for Biden’s State of the Union.” Read Full Story

It’s one of the most awkward twenty seconds ever captured on video in a disastrous administration that lurches from one awkward moment to another: When asked, “Do you think you may have underestimated Putin?,” Old Joe Biden first continued to stare in the general direction of the question, a slight smirk on his face, expression absolutely unchanged from what it had been before the question was asked. A few seconds later he turned his head to face the camera and, after a few more seconds, grinned sardonically. A few seconds later, he began picking his teeth with his thumbnail, and then grins a bit vacantly before the video mercifully runs out. Amid all the wrong choices, erroneous policies, abject failures, and stupid missteps of this disastrous administration, it was a trivial moment, but it was a telling one.

The length of the awkward situation is also odd. A White House aide can be heard saying “Thank you” several times at the beginning of the video, apparently shooing reporters out so they won’t ask Old Joe tough questions such as, “Did you underestimate Putin?” But they don’t manage to stop the video feed until we get to watch the old man stare vacantly into space and pick his teeth. Biden’s handlers are so weak and feckless that they can’t even competently provide the illusion that their man is in cool, confident command. Everyone can see it. Vladimir Putin can see it. Xi Jinping can see it. They and others are going to act upon what they see. Read Full Story
