The New York Times reports that the two subjects in the Boston Marathon bombing ran from police Thursday night, leading to a deadly chase through suburbs that left one suspect dead, one officer dead, and the other suspect on the loose. Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick shut down Boston’s mass transit system and police have asked all residents of the suburbs of Watertown, Newton, Waltham, and Cambridge to stay home and locked down Friday as the search continued for the remaining suspect.
NBC News reports the suspects are Russian brothers named Tsarnaez from a region near Chechnya. Both are in their early 20s, have been in the U.S. for about a year, and have military experience. The Washington Post has published more photos of the suspect who remains at large.
