NSA Snags 200 Million Text Messages a Day

In another explosive revelation from Edward Snowden, the Guardian reports the NSA collects nearly 200 million text message every day in untargeted global sweeps. Meanwhile, as President Obama prepares to announce small reforms to NSA surveillance, the New York Times profiles his transition from harsh critic of surveillance to commander-in-chief, and quotes his deputy national security adviser, “We have an ability to do essentially anything technologically. So do we have the appropriate legal and policy overlay to ensure that’s focused?”
