Obama Tries to Shift Blame to US Intel for Slow Response to ISIL

The Buck Stops Where? President Obama claims U.S. intelligence officials failed to recognize the growing threat of ISIL in the last few years, Newsmax reports. In an interview with 60 Minutes, Obama blamed U.S. spy agencies, “I think they underestimated what had been taking place in Syria,” he claimed. “This became ground zero for jihadists around the world.” But the DailyBeast’s Eli Lake reports that Obama is misleading: “The intelligence analysts did warn about the group. Nearly eight months ago, some of President Obama’s senior intelligence officials were already warning that ISIS was on the move.”
