Now that The Huffington Post is reporting Boston marathon bombing suspect, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, is awake and responding to questions in writing the focus now turns to how the Obama administration is getting these answers. Politico reports, the administration has invoked the public safety exception, so Tsarnev hasn’t been read his Miranda rights. At least for now, FBI investigators may have a shot at trying to question him about other potential plots he may be aware of and whether anyone other than his deceased brother was involved in last Monday’s bombing or Thursday night’s crime spree.
Meanwhile, Boston Mayor Menino tells ABC’s “This Week” the information he has indicates that the suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing acted alone. The British Daily Mirror, however, reports the FBI is seeking a 12-person ‘terror cell’ in connection with the bombings. The NYT reports the brothers were armed and ready to strike again until the manhunt ended last Friday.
