“Under the order, which gave the Trump administration a partial victory, federal immigration authorities appeared to be given the green light to enforce the asylum restrictions in New Mexico and Texas.”

The Trump administration asked the Supreme Court to allow it to begin enforcing severe new restrictions on migrants who seek asylum protections after crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.

Under the joint rule issued by the Department of Justice and Department of Homeland Security last month, migrants arriving at the southern border are ineligible for asylum unless they have sought refugee status in one of the countries they traveled through first.

The new restrictions, which seek to curb the number of asylum claims made by migrants traveling through Central America, were swiftly challenged in federal court by four immigrant rights groups, and a federal district judge in San Francisco issued a nationwide injunction last month blocking the Trump administration from enforcing the rule. Rudy Giuliani, who serves as President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, said he spoke with a Ukrainian official about Joe Biden’s possible involvement in an investigation into the former vice president’s son’s conduct relating to a Ukrainian-owned gas company. 

The former New York City mayor’s meeting with Ukrainian officials was first reported by The New York Times. He later confirmed in an interview with CNN that he met with the officials.

Giuliani told CNN he spoke with Andriy Yermak, whom he called the lawyer for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, over the phone twice and agreed to a meeting in Madrid last month. Read Full Story

Republican South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott said that Democrats are trying to “figure out a way to dupe” African-American voters into supporting them.

Responding on Monday night’s “The Story with Martha MacCallum” to Democratic 2020 presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke’s claim that America “is still” a “racist” country, Scott told Fox News host Martha MacCallum that the policies “smart” Democrats would propose, Republicans under Trump are already doing.
