Why have a group of congressional Democrats symbolically flipped the bird to “the Presidential Commission on the Supreme Court of the United States” that President Biden created by executive order only 6 days ago?  Andrea Widburg has an excellent blog on these pages today on the announcement and its place in the broader plan of the Dems to alter the institutional framework of governance so as to ensure permanent Democrat majorities.

That group of purported “experts” appointed by Biden’s executive order was stacked to likely yield a result congenial to expanding the court so as to hand a rubber stamp majority to the Dems, as Bloomberg reported:

“The commission skews left, with progressives holding a 3:1 ratio to conservatives, according the Ilya Shapiro, of the libertarian Cato Institute think tank. (snip)

“The panel also leans heavily on professors, with just a handful of members whose experience isn’t primarily in legal or political academics. Moreover, approximately 80% are graduates or otherwise affiliated with just two schools—Harvard and Yale.” Read Full Story

It should be obvious by now that many, if not most, Republican leaders are worthless. It’s not just that they don’t seem to grasp what being a conservative means in the current moment, it’s that they have no interest in taking a stand against the ascendent forces of woke capitalism and an aggressive cultural left — even when they are presented with easy opportunities to do so.

Take Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, who was fool enough to go on Tucker Carlson’s show earlier this week to defend his veto of a bill that outlaws the genital mutilation and chemical castration of children. Carlson asked the governor a simple question: “Why do you think it’s important for conservatives to make certain that children can block their puberty, be chemically castrated? Why is that a conservative value?” Read Full Story

President Joe Biden has vowed to impose $2 trillion in tax increases including a corporate income tax rate hike to 28% and a 21% “global minimum tax.” Democrats say that further tax increases, including doubling the capital gains tax, a second death tax, and income tax increases may be introduced in the coming weeks.

These same Democrats argue that the economy is still weak and that there is a long path back toward recovery. If this is true, why are they calling for one of the largest tax increases in history? Read Full Story
