Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., pushed back against former CIA Director John Brennan‘s claims that there is evidence of President Trump colluding with Russia during the 2016 election, saying if there was such evidence “the entire world would already know.”
“If there is a scintilla of evidence that the president colluded with the Russians and Brennan had that evidence, the entire world would already know,” Scott told Fox News’ Neil Cavuto on Saturday.
Brennan, who had his security clearance revoked by Trump this past week, wrote in an op-ed for The New York Times on Thursday that Trump’s “claims of no collusion are, in a word, hogwash.” Reports The Hill

Members of the news media are increasingly working together as they try to turn up the heat on President Trump’s White House.
On Thursday, more than 100 newspapers around the country are set to publish editorials in a coordinated push back against Trump’s repeated complaints of “fake news” and his remark that many in the press are the “enemy of the people.”
The Boston Globe initiated the campaign, and contacted local and national papers around the country to get them to join the effort… Reports the Washington Examiner

Barack Obama is the gift that keeps giving — to Donald Trump and the GOP.
Yesterday the former president — who left four Americans for dead in Benghazi then blamed a video — officially inserted himself into the midterm race tweeting endorsements of 81 Democratic candidates.
“I’m confident that, together, they’ll strengthen this country we love by restoring opportunity that’s broadly shared, repairing our alliances and standing in the world, and upholding our fundamental commitment to justice, fairness, responsibility and the rule of law,” Obama announced.
Perhaps the former White House occupant is inhaling more than cigarettes these days if he thinks any voter is buying the line that Democrats are upholding a “commitment to justice” — when it was his administration that destroyed public trust in our government institutions by weaponizing the IRS and U.S. Justice Department to target political opponents… Reports the Boston Herald
