Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., joined the growing chorus of GOP critics of Colorado’s ruling disqualifying former President Donald Trump from the state’s primary ballot, arguing “radical leftism” has “infiltrated” every institution in the U.S..
Trump’s campaign and a slew of GOP lawmakers have railed against the decision, arguing it is an illegal attempt by Democrats to interfere with the election and prevent Trump from taking back the Oval Office in 2024.
Johnson said the “all-Democrat appointed Supreme Court” were supporting a “left-wing group’s scheme to interfere in an election on behalf of crooked Joe Biden.” Read Full Story

Senate Republicans say there’s no chance of a deal before Christmas on funding the war in Ukraine and enacting new border security reforms.
“We’ll work through the [Christmas] break and hopefully have something ready to vote on” in January, said Senate Republican Whip John Thune. “Obviously, we’re not getting this done this week, for sure.”
The discussions have stalled amid strong pushback from critics in both parties who have raised the alarm about the lack of transparency in the talks and the possibility that party leaders would try to jam a deal through the Senate with little review right before the holiday recess. Read Full Story

Hard-line conservative Republicans in the House are mounting a last-ditch effort against the annual National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) bill that is set for a final vote this week.
They object to its exclusion of culture war measures and inclusion of a short-term extension of controversial warrantless surveillance powers in the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).
The NDAA is expected to get a final passage vote in the House on Thursday after it cleared the Senate Wednesday, making it one of the last major pieces of legislation in Congress for the year. Read Full Story
