One of the comforting fictions conservatives are increasingly tempted to tell themselves is that if they just move to a red state or county, the insanity of the woke left won’t affect them and their family. Ensconced in safely Republican communities, perhaps they’ll be free not just from disastrous Democrat policies but also from the pernicious sexual propaganda of the left. For conservatives with children, this is especially important.

But it’s a mirage. There is no American town or hamlet remote or red enough to prevent the infiltration of leftist ideology, which today often comes from institutions that in an earlier era would have been seen as the guardians of a decidedly Christian civic virtue. Republican senators are rallying around Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell after a disappointing midterm election for the GOP.

A push by a group of Senate conservatives to delay Wednesday’s leadership election is running out of steam, even though senators don’t yet know whether they will have 50 or 49 members of their conference until after the Dec. 6 Georgia runoff.

National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman Rick Scott of Florida, who is more closely allied with former President Donald Trump, on Monday failed to convince other members of the Senate GOP leadership team to agree to delay Wednesday’s election — a sign that McConnell remains in full control. Read Full Story
