The Alaska Republican Party on Monday voted to censure Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) for what they called spreading “divisive and misleading statements” about their endorsed candidate in Alaska’s Senate race.
The state party added that McConnell’s financial support for incumbent Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, in the Senate race against fellow Republican Kelly Tshibaka was “in direct contradiction” to the party, according to a copy of the resolution posted Monday night on Facebook.
“Much of the financial support from the Senate Leadership Fund has been used for malicious political attack ads targeted at our endorsed candidate, Kelly Tshibaka, that are gross distortions of fact,” the resolution reads. “We request the Senate Leadership Fund immediately stop the attack ads against Kelly Tshibaka and discontinue the support of all other opposing candidates.” Read Full Story

Fed Survey: Companies Increasingly Pessimistic as Inflation Climbs
U.S. economic activity expanded modestly in recent weeks, although activity was flat in some regions and declined in a couple of others, the Federal Reserve said on Wednesday in a report that showed firms growing more pessimistic about the outlook.
“National economic activity expanded modestly on net since the previous report; however, conditions varied across industries and districts,” the Fed said in its latest collection of surveys known as the “Beige Book,” conducted across its 12 districts through Oct 7. “Outlooks grew more pessimistic amidst growing concerns about weakening demand.”
Firms noted that price pressures remained elevated, although there was some easing in several districts, and several said labor conditions were cooling somewhat. Read Full Story

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell says he has the votes to serve as majority leader if Republicans capture control of the Senate, despite weathering nearly two years of personal attacks from former President Trump.
Trump has repeatedly called on Senate Republicans to replace McConnell as leader, but he hasn’t gotten any traction in the Senate GOP conference.
“I have the votes,” McConnell told CNN in an interview, slamming the door on any speculation that an influx of Trump-aligned freshman senators could shake up the Senate GOP leadership structure. Read Full Story
