The New York Times reports that about 20 rabbis affiliated with a liberal Jewish group were arrested Monday night after blocking the street near the Trump International Hotel and Tower at Columbus Circle in Manhattan to protest the executive order banning travel to America from seven majority-Muslim nations. Citing the Immigration Act of 1924 that restricted immigrants to America, Rabbi Jill Jacobs, the executive director of the rabbinical group T’ruah that organized the protest, said “We know that some of the language that’s being used now to stop Muslims from coming in is the same language that was used to stop Jewish refugees from coming.”

The Washington Examiner reports that, according to a new Gallup poll, 36 percent of Americans said that the media has been “too tough” on President Trump; 31 percent said the coverage has been “about right” and a surprisingly low 28 percent said the media hasn’t been tough enough.

On Friday, the Trump administration will sign an executive order to dramatically scale back Dodd Frank, the sweeping banking legislation put in place by the administration of President Barack Obama in response to the 2008 financial crisis. The Act, signed into law in 2010, has been called “a disaster” by Trump, reports Forbes.
